New release version 8 features an intuitive 3D design mode and fully integrated multi layer designer.

EMPIRE XPU is a 3D time domain EM modeling tool for Antennas, Microwave Circuits, EM Chip design and much more. The IMST innovative & proprietary XPU technology is a smart implementation of the Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) algorithm on modern CPU architectures. It can drastically reduce simulation times while (in contrast to GPU solutions) maintaining full access to the available main memory. Hardware costs can be drastically reduced as no expensive GPUs are needed.

  • Extremely fast and highly memory efficient solver using IMST proprietary XPU technology
  • Highest performance at all scales with full main memory support (more then 2TB on modern workstations)
  • Just-in-time code generation and caching reduce required memory by 50%
  • Interoperability with all common 3D CAD data, layout formats and vendor simulation projects
  • Intuitive 3D Design Editor with fully integrated multi-layer designer

Modern cars include many antennas and radar sensors for communication and safety. Designing antennas for such systems is quite challenging and can be done very efficient with EMPIRE XPU.

  • Performance analysis of radar antenna arrays including feed network and environment (radome, painted bumper, chassis)
  • Car-to-Car communication including multi-path propagation
  • Near- and far-field prediction of antennas mounted on vehicle
  • Dosimetric assessment of near fields in human bodies (SAR, Power Density, Fields)
  • Wireless power transfer analysis

Testimonials

Home1_tinted "You have developed a very comprehensive simulation platform. It is a pleasure using your software."

Tialinx, Inc., USA

"We have a website and all those components were designed with EMPIRE XPU and only 1 of our designs needed tuning screws because of manufacturing tolerances."

Plexsa Manufacturing, SA

Home3_tinted "I have successfully used EMPIRE XPU to simulate antenna structures such as Dielectric Resonator Antennas (DRA), slot fed patches, horns and lenses. I found the software to be a very powerful, fast and accurate tool in predicting the performance of these antenna structures. As an example, EMPIRE XPU was able to accurately simulate the radiation pattern of a slot fed DRA array (paper attached). The learning curve was relatively fast and the support of the IMST staff during this period was very good. The support staff at IMST is very knowledgeable and was able to answer my inquiries within a short period of time."

Soulideth Thirakoune, Microwave Antenna Engineer,Communications Research Centre, Ottawa, Canada
Home4_tinted "EMPIRE XPU is a powerful, versatile and efficient 3D EM modeler that I use on a daily basis to design a wide variety of RF hardware. It saves me a lot of engineering time which I now can spend on the more important problems and ideas. Additionally, the excellent and encouraging support of the EMPIRE XPU support-team, which are application engineers as myself, helps a lot to improve the effectiveness of my daily work."

Brian Cascarano, Canadian Space Agency, St Hubert, QC, Canada
Home5b_tinted "I have used EMPIRE XPU since 2002 for solving different electromagnetic problems, such as microstrip antennas, waveguide components, lenses, dielectric resonator antennas and artificial dielectrics. In all cases, EMPIRE XPU turns out to be remarkably efficient and powerful tool, providing an excellent agreement between simulations and measurements. Since EMPIRE XPU has a time-domain engine, it solves broadband problems much faster than the Frequency Domain simulation tools I have used. The interface gives lots of flexibility and control to the user and complex objects geometries can be programmed in Python without difficulty. The technical support at IMST is very good and I always receive clear answers to my questions in very reasonable time."

Nicolas Gagnon, Microwave Antenna Engineer, Communications Research Centre, Ottawa, Canada
