The EMPIRE XCcel simulator covers many different tasks in microwave engineering and can be used very effectively. The numerical method applied is based on the Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD), which method is known to be superior to others, especially for 3D large scale problems (least memory requirements, one simulation for an entire frequency range).
EMPIRE XCcel is very accurate and simplification is hardly necessary since it solves the discrete Maxwell's equations directly. The EMPIRE XCcel graphical user interface is powerful for the easy set-up of the structure and the control unit guides the user through batch- and post-processing.
