EMPIRE XCcel v5.20 has been successfully tested on the new Studio XPS Intel Core i7 processor, model 920 (Quadcore, 2.66GHz, 8MB cache, 4.8GT/sec) equipped with 3 DDR3 2 GB modules.

Benchmarks under Windows Vista 64bit system show a performance of up to 780 MCells/second without any further code optimizations. Especially for electrically large structures this processor yields high performance figures. The very moderate price for this new processor makes it a very attractive choice for EM-based design with EMPIRE XCcel.
