EMPIRE XCcel 5.50 released

Mar 2011
This new release features the cluster solver on Windows

On market since 1998, EMPIRE XCcel has always been the first choice for EM design of complex structures. The new 5.50 release is even further optimised to solve huge structures hundreds of wavelength in size.

New Speed records:

  • Cluster solver 5560 MCells/s, 12 Intel Core i7-920 Computers
  • Single PC solver 2650 Mcells/s on Intel Dual Xeon X5680
  • Single PC solver, 2120 MCells/s on Intel Core i7-2600

New features include:

  • Cluster solver for Windows (solving large simulation problems efficiently on multiple PC's)
  • High speed simulation on Hard Disk Drive, extending physical RAM up to HDD size, e.g. 1 TByte
  • Advanced Vector Extension (AVX) support of new Sandy Bridge processors
  • Improved GUI with quicker access to libraries and parameter settings
  • Reduced memory requirement for preprocessing and simulation
  • Accelerations for pre- and postprocessing
  • New curve plotting engine with easy-to-use sorting, filtering and zooming results
  • Improved import/export filters (gerber, dxf), export of SAT format
  • Far field phase center calculation
  • Absorber with adjustable attenuation
  • Extended port library (Finline, lifted CPW, Waveguide with arbitrary cross section)
  • 2D and 3D slice visualization of body models for easy positioning of devices
