Near fields can be visualized by hill or contour plots or vectors. Animation loops for phase, frequencies or time steps can be defined. Here, the electric field is displayed and the phase is varied for a certain frequency. Blue colors represent low field strength and red represents the maximum value.

Near field visualization

To obtain near fields, a box has to be defined on a layer with the property “Field Distribution” where either frequency points or time steps can be specified and E- or H- fields can be omitted to save memory. The field will be stored inside this box and can be visualized on animation planes. To display the near field, one has to define a plane or an object inside the near field recording box and assign the property 3D Field Animation Box. Many options can be adjusted in order to set field plot components and amplitudes, style and scaling of the plot or animation loop settings.
